Native Tongues & Little Ones is a Hip Hop Orchestrated music education program focused on using Hip Hop Music to help children ages 4-7 enhance their listening skills, improve their coordination through rhythmic movement, and practice their group social skills with parents & fellow students.

Native Tongues & Little Ones will adapt & censor music from Hip Hop's Golden Age (late 80's to early 90's), specifically music from the jazz-influenced Hip Hop collective the Native Tongues. We will get those little bodies moving and those mental rhythm patterns going through instruction-focused Hip Hop dance, play-a-long Hip Hop music circle,  parent & child rhythm n' dance freestyle cyphers, and storyteller performances. Children will gain the benefits of early music education learning through Golden Age Hip Hop when engaging in the Native Tongues & Little Ones program.

Classes will be divided into two age groups: (1) Wee Natives= Ages 4-5 & (2) Little Natives= Ages 6-7. The extended version of Native Tongues & Little Ones will go beyond a one-off workshop and will be designed as a 5-week interval course load. Students & their parents attend one 45 minute class each week. The final class in the 5-week series will be a 1 hour Little Ones House Party! Parent and child will dress up in their best 90's outfits and perform their version of a House Party Rhythm n' Dance routine for the class while everyone enjoys juice, light snacks, free play, and small talk among parent pals.
